COMMUNITY
MARKET REOPENS
Shopping is now available
In an effort to provide more service and more
access to quality foods, the food bank is
reopening our Community Market.
As in the past, the
Community Market will allow you to pick up
available items such as additional bread,
produce, and assorted food and nonfood products.
When picking up your order at our distribution
facility, you may shop for items to add to your
order or you can make an appointment to shop
only without ordering online.
PLEASE NOTE:
You must use the following procedure to set up a
SHOPPING ONLY APPOINTMENT (where you DO NOT have
a warehouse order, but just want to shop):
-
Create a pickup appointment by using the
scheduler
-
Browse the shopping list for an item called
“Shopping Appointment” (Item# SHOP)
-
Add one SHOP item to your shopping cart
-
Click on CHECKOUT
-
Once in your shopping cart summary,
select PICKUP from the drop down box, select
your appointment date, then your time
-
Click on SUBMIT CART
Agencies that have created an online warehouse
order for PICKUP will not need to add the
SHOP item to their cart to shop in the
Community Market because your online pick up
order will automatically reserve a shopping
appointment for your agency.

NEW AGENCY DELIVERY REQUIREMENTS
Effective September 1, 2010
Starting September 1st, Roadrunner Food Bank
will require a minimum weight of 400 pounds on
all deliveries in the Albuquerque Metro and
surrounding areas which include Los Lunas,
Bernalillo, and the East Mountain area.
Orders that are submitted that do not meet the
minimum weight requirements of 400 pounds will
need to be picked up at our warehouse.

NEW FOOD BANK HOURS
Effective June 1, 2010
In an effort to cut costs and increase
efficiency, the food bank has changed its
operating hours.
The food bank is now closed on Saturdays and
operates from 8am to 4pm Monday through Friday.
Agencies will no longer be able to pickup orders
or receive deliveries on Saturdays.
Pickup appointments will be changed in July or
August to provide longer time periods for
shopping and more hours.
Please check back frequently for more
information.
CHANGES IN BREAD DISTRIBUTION
Effective May 3, 2010
BREAD ORDERS
will begin to follow the same rules as produce
orders. We are getting information from a
growing number of agencies that the 35 lb boxes
of bread they are ordering is moldy when they
receive it.
In order to
continue to support those agencies who request
bread, as with produce, all bread requests can
only be entered two (2) business days
prior to a scheduled delivery/pickup date.
Any order that
is submitted that includes bread or produce
prior to the two business day rule will be
disapproved.

ordering procedure should be directed to:

CHANGES IN BREAD DISTRIBUTION
Effective October 26, 2009
Roadrunner Food Bank has been researching the
most equitable, efficient and economical way to
provide bread to Partner Agencies.
Based on input from various Partner Agencies,
and our capacity to support the many and varied
suggestions, we are now purchasing boxes
solely for the purpose of distributing bread
to our Partner Agencies, rather than in 300 lb
bins we used previously.
Each bread box will now weigh 35 lbs and
contain 10 loaves of bread and an assortment of
other bread products (rolls, buns, English
muffins, etc.).
Roadrunner Food Bank will continue to provide
bread at no cost to our Partner Agencies,
however, a 60 cent Value Added Processing (VAP)
Fee will be charged for each bread box ordered.
This represents only a portion of the cost of
these boxes, the Food Bank subsidizing the
remaining cost. These boxes are yours to use as
you see fit.
Thank you for your patience as we continue to
explore various ways to support our Partner
Agencies and your hunger relief programs.
